My Role Model

Image
Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Shakthimaan ...You name the problem and there will be a super hero to solve that. We are all grown with these fictional characters who have a solution for everything. In real world also, superheroes exists to give solutions to all our problems.   For me, My sister is my superhero, sometimes she is a gallant warrior who was always between me and my worst things. She is a super teacher, Perhaps a strict one, a super friend and a super sister who was always there dashing at a streak of lightening speed to be around me when I needed her. She is the one one who believes all my stupid theories and she is the only one whom I get possessive even if she talks more with her husband. If I ever need advice or need to vent or just to share my nonsense stories, she will be always there to listen, celebrate. She is that one person I can always go for an unbiased opinion. Well may be not fully unbiased... She does... After all she takes my side quite a lot. ...

OverProtective Parents, Insecure Children

Image
When most of today's parents learned to ride a bike, they just got on and started pedalling. That was it. Nowadays kids were taught differently: they get the bike and also the helmet, some elbow pads, knee pads, gloves etc., This is a very noble and positive mentality right? So, where is the problem? Every child needs their parent's protection against certain dangers they will encounter in their lives but when that protection becomes a bubble that isolates them from the majority of the things that happened in the outside world, then it becomes over protection. Over protective parents are those who are continuously trying to prevent their children from facing conflicts and situations that are distressing and painful. These parents are tend to be excessively cautious with their children and often feel overly responsible about what might happen to them. They want to prevent their child from suffering, having a bad time or having to go through many bad things which they we...

A Strong Independent Women

Image
For me, being a strong independent women is not being single or married, not about having lots of money or status in your career - it is a state of mind . An interesting definition of an independent women I saw in the urban dictionary was that " A woman who pays her own bills, buys her own things, and doesn't feel she needs a man's approval. " This is true but that's not the only thing it means. Being a strong independent women can be confusing at times. The definition of a strong woman  supposedly is you should never show your weakness, while being an independent woman means you should be self reliable and usually you don't need anyone else to help you. But the reality is no one can be strong for 24/7 and no one can live totally independent of other people. A strong woman means she protects her joy, happiness and peace and takes care of her relationship with family and friends. She stands up for what is right even if she has to stand all by herself....

My Hero

Image
When I think about what my hero means to me, I realize most of my special memories and feelings towards my hero comes from the little things he does every day. My hero is not a celebrity or such a recognizable face. My hero is not a cine hero or multi-millionaire. He never saved me from the burning castle or an avalanche, but he hugs me daily and tells me to have a good day. He doesn’t buy me expensive cars or fancy accessories, but he buys everything what I deserve and what I desire. What makes a person as a hero? When someone puts others will as a priority instead of their own will, when someone undergoes many sufferings and sacrifices themselves for others good without telling it to anyone. Like every other girls my dad is my first hero. No No No.. he is my super hero forever since I born in this world. He makes it as a priority that his family is well taken care of and is protected. He would swim in an ocean for his family. My dad is a very perfect man. Many times I wondered...

A Girl's Wanderlust

Image
Like every ordinary girl I love shoes, I love shopping and I also love to paint my nails. Yet there was something deeper inside me longing to search, explore and discover more. After my 20+ years of my life I found that I am something different from others and my desire is in different things and I am finally proud of it. Life is too short. I live to see. I live to fill my life with my real stories. My daydreams will not fall within the typical fairytale love story but rather a fairytale that you may not heard yet. I am a girl from the reserved family who lives in a small circle and my family pampered me like a kid. Till the day when I went to Noida without them, I don’t know whether I can sleep without my mom/ sister beside me. But that journey is the root cause for my desire on travelling around. That journey made me to realize that I can do my work on my own without anyone’s help. I can also be perfect and also I can be responsible. Being a last child of family, all the pe...

How I Bring Up my daughter as a responsible mother

In today’s scenario every girl’s parents restricting their daughters to explore the outside world, because they are scared that their daughter would be next Swathi or next Ashifa. That was not their fault. Being a girl, even I thought that the life of being a guy is much easier. Because the restrictions by the parents would be less and the problems which we are facing in the outside world would be less. So here I wanted to put together how I would bring up my daughter as a responsible mother. If I were a mom of a girl child, I would allow my daughter to explore the outside world, to know the people’s mentality. I will teach her that the freedom is the one which she wanted to do for her improvement. I will teach her that the freedom of her should not hurt others. I will teach her that growing up as a good human being is not just about not going to parties or not getting addicted to alcohol. It is all about how you treat people, your manners and respect. I will teach her that the m...

My First Flight Travel Experience

Image
My First Flight Travel Experience I got an opportunity to travel to Delhi from Chennai through airplane. It was an official trip. Me and my friends reached airport one and half before. After few minutes we all 6 girls went inside the airport by saying good bye to our parents. It was the first time for me that I am going away from my parents and I am gonna live alone without them for one and half months. Though it is a very short period of time but it hurts a lot when I went inside the airport without them. My mom and my sis running parallel to me in the outside of the airport to say bye which made me so bad. It even made me to cry and I controlled and turned other side to see my friends and all others are also in the same stage of mine. Yes, we are all the kids from the family who pampered us till that time. We took boarding passes with the help of Shivani, the only girl among us had the flight travel experience. After finishing the check in section we went for security chec...
